Ex NBA star Delonte West receives a life changing miracle to get his life back
A new opportunity could give the former NBA guard a fresh start
Life can change in an instant, and one day you can be at the top while the next can take you somewhere completely different. Former NBA player Delonte West has faced a long, public battle with bipolar disorder, substance abuse, and homelessness following his retirement from basketball in 2015.
He went from being an NBA player who earned $16 million over his eight-year career to wandering the streets. Despite multiple relapses, arrests, and interventions, including help from former Mavericks owner Mark Cuban and LeBron James, West has more recently shared positive updates about his recovery and treatment program . A few months ago, the former guard announced that he had reached 100 days sober , and everything appeared to indicate that he was staying on the right path.
Recently, popular streamer N3on connected with West and took him shopping for streaming equipment to help him jump-start a new career and get his life back on track . N3on, whose real name is Mikyle Rafiq, is one of the most popular streamers today. After starting his career with NBA 2K videos, he has gone on to spend time with NBA stars and host live streams with them.
Some viewers commented during his stream that West would eventually waste this latest opportunity. N3on, however, believes in West and his chance to start over, and his support could give the former NBA player an opportunity to build something new.
More than just streaming equipment
N3on reportedly set West up with $25,000 worth of streaming equipment and told him everything was ready for him to begin creating content. He also gave West an iPhone and $50,000 to encourage him to work toward his future . But then came the biggest surprise.
N3on reportedly revealed that he had also helped secure West a $100,000 deal with Kick, leaving the former NBA guard visibly emotional. N3on also said West already has a verified and monetized Kick account under his name , meaning he can start earning money as soon as he begins streaming. After everything West has been through since leaving the NBA, this could be the beginning of a very different chapter.
