“I’m from Ohio. What the f*ck are you talking about?”: LeBron James’ brutal response to a Knicks fan
LeBron James had a heated exchange with a Knicks fan at Madison Square Garden.

It didn’t take long fo r LeBron James to realize that he is not welcome at Madison Square Garden , despite the fact that the legendary player has never hidden his desire to play for the New York Knicks . During the first game of the season, fans made their feelings clear through chants directed at the new Philadelphia 76ers player, and there was even a verbal exchange with fans in the front row.
And while “The King” is coming off a stint with the Lakers, with whom he won a championship, it is worth remembering that, yes, what he says is true: he does not belong to the West Coast .
LeBron James’ confrontation with a Knicks fan
After hearing “We don’t want you” chants multiple times at MSG, LeBron James was caught on camera telling a fan: “I’m not from the West Coast. I’m from Ohio baby. F–k is you talking about?!”
And he is absolutely right. LeBron has spent most of his career playing in the East, even if Knicks fans don’t like it.
LeBron always wanted to play for the Knicks
LeBron’s desire to wear the Knicks jersey dates back several years. According to Brian Windhorst , Nike even included a clause in his contract that would have given him a significant bonus if New York had selected him in the 2003 NBA Draft .
Over time, LeBron himself acknowledged that he once envisioned his career on basketball’s most iconic stage.
During the Philadelphia 76ers media day, the four-time NBA champion admitted:
“I had visions of playing in [Madison Square] Garden and finishing my career in the Garden. One of the best places I’ve ever played.”
“I think it’s the No. 1 arena in the world, as far as for a basketball player. But after they beat San Antonio, I was like, ‘Hey, I can’t.’ I couldn’t do it. Y’all wouldn’t have let me lay that down, at all,” he added.
After the controversy surrounding his departure from the Cleveland Cavaliers to join the Miami Heat in 2010 , LeBron did not want to go through a similar situation again. And now, after the reaction from Knicks fans, it appears that staying away from New York ended up being the right decision.
