Ja Morant returns to his old high school with daughter in his arms to see permanent tribute inside gym

Ja Morant returned to the place where his basketball journey began, and this time he wasn't alone.
The NBA star walked into Crestwood High School in Sumter, South Carolina, smiling and greeting people with his 7-year-old daughter Kaari in his arms as the school unveiled a permanent insignia inside the gym honoring his journey from Sumter to the NBA.
It's a very different scene from Morant's days as a teenager walking through the same school. He left Crestwood as its all-time leading scorer with 1,679 points before eventually becoming an NBA superstar.
The homecoming also gave something back to the next generation. Nike and Hibbett awarded $50,000 to Crestwood's boys and girls basketball programs as Morant returned to the gym where his own story started.
