The New York Knicks are still weighing whether to visit President Donald Trump at the White House following their historic NBA Finals victory, with head coach Mike Brown confirming that no final decision has been made. New York ended its 53-year wait for an NBA title in June, defeating the San Antonio Spurs 4-1 in the Finals and the possibility of a White House visit has remained a question throughout the offseason.

The question is particularly interesting because the Knicks owner James Dolan previously indicated that the organization would accept Trump 's invitation, however, Brown said the decision is still being discussed internally. “No, it's still something that our guys, or the organization, is internally discussing and, you know, whatever we decide to do, we'll all do together,” Brown said, via ESPN, with the organization planning to make the choice collectively. The Knicks have two scheduled trips to Washington, D.C. , during the upcoming season, giving them potential opportunities to combine a visit to the White House with a road game against the Wizards . New York is scheduled to play in Washington on December 18 and March 16 and whilst the Knicks ' White House situation remains unresolved, it serves as a reminder that no NBA championship team has visited the White House during either of Trump 's terms. Trump attended Game 3 at Madison Square Garden , the only game New York lost in the five-game series as the Knicks recovered to complete their championship run. Jalen Brunson scoring 45 points in the 94-90 Game 5 victory over Victor Wembanyama ’s San Antonio but now, months after the title celebration, the organization still has one decision outstanding.

Trump to announce $200 billion to energy commitments from South Korea

Meanwhile the White House is also preparing to announce a major South Korean investment package, with Trump expected to unveil $200 billion in investments tied to energy and other strategic projects. The announcement is expected to include $54 billion for a long-planned liquefied natural gas project in Alaska and involves an 807-mile natural gas pipeline connecting the North Slope with an LNG export terminal in southern region of the state. South Korea 's broader commitment comes from a $350 billion trade and investment agreement reached with the United States last year. The package is also expected to include South Korean investment in nuclear power projects and a 6-gigawatt power generation facility in Texas .
