During Monday night’s game between the Philadelphia 76ers and the Chicago Bulls at Xfinity Mobile Arena on November 2 , LeBron James provided one of the evening’s most memorable and unusual moments by interacting with a fan.

Behind one of the baskets, the veteran grabbed a fan’s cup and took a sip. According to ESPN’s Kris Rhim , the season-ticket holder — identified as Troy Clemens — offered LeBron some of his wine during the game.

Stadium cameras captured the scene, which quickly went viral on social media and sparked speculation about whether the NBA might take disciplinary action.

Will LeBron James be fined for drinking wine during the game?

This is not the first time LeBron has had an unusual interaction with fans during a game. In 2017 , during the Cleveland Cavaliers’ playoff series against the Toronto Raptors , he playfully pretended to drink a beer courtside. The league took no action against him.

Nor would it be the first time a 76ers player has been involved in a similar situation. In 2019 , then-Philadelphia forward Mike Scott went viral when he drank from a fan’s cup during a game against the Milwaukee Bucks . Scott jumped into the stands, took the cup, sipped from it, and returned to the court. The NBA reviewed the incident but decided against a fine, and the 76ers imposed no internal discipline either.

While the league may review LeBron’s interaction with the fan , it appears unlikely that the 41-year-old will receive a financial penalty for a moment that quickly became one of the most talked-about highlights of the night.
