Steph Curry overcomes his parents' divorce with a heartwarming reaction to his mother Sonya's wedding
Sonya was married to Dell Curry for over 30 years before divorcing in 2021

Stephen Curry has shown his support for Sonya as his mother begins a new chapter in her personal life, with the Golden State Warriors superstar appearing cheerful at her recent wedding five years after her divorce from Dell .
Sonya revealed the marriage in an Instagram post on Friday, October 9, sharing photographs from the ceremony that captured several family moments, and one image showed Steph smiling broadly on the dance floor as one of his daughters showed off her moves.
Offering a glimpse of the relaxed atmosphere surrounding the celebration, the post also featured a collection of Polaroid photographs from the occasion, including one of Steph posing alongside his wife, Ayesha .
His expression suggested he was enjoying the event and celebrating alongside his mother as she moved forward with a new relationship and looks to be finding happiness once again in her life.
The wedding took place at the Fairmont Scottsdale Princess resort in Arizona and according to Sonya's Instagram post, the event came together in just nine weeks.
She has not publicly identified her new husband, whose face was not visible in the wedding pictures she shared. Sonya and Dell filed for divorce in 2021 after more than three decades of marriage.
Steph Curry remains committed to the Golden State Warriors
Away from the family celebrations, Curry is preparing for another campaign with the Warriors , who enter the 2026-27 NBA season facing questions about whether their roster has enough depth to compete at the highest level.
Golden State 's offseason activity has drawn criticism from fans who wanted to see more significant additions as the franchise's most notable move since 2022 was acquiring the ageing Jimmy Butler .
Curry has acknowledged that the Warriors had opportunities to strengthen their roster following their championship triumph but despite those concerns, the four-time NBA champion has made clear that he wants to remain in Golden State for the rest of his career.
He has also indicated that contract negotiations should not interfere with the team's preparations for the new season ahead of an opening day clash with the Los Angeles Lakers , who are now without LeBron James .
“There’s no question I want to be here the rest of my career, and I’m pretty sure that’s going to happen,” Curry added. “The deal and the contract stuff will happen at the right time, and we’re not letting it be a distraction from our preparation for the season, and the fact that the team we’re coming back with has a lot of familiarity.”
The 38-year-old missed more than 40 games last season because of a persistent knee issue, making his availability another important factor in Golden State 's prospects as questions remain about the team's roster and Curry 's long-term future.
