Who is Katya Henry? The model looking to end her marriage to Tyler Herro

Milwaukee Bucks guard Tyler Herro has already been through a blockbuster trade and a reported confrontation with former teammate Bam Adebayo . Now, Herro is facing a court dispute with longtime partner Katya Elise Henry over their two children.

Herro ’s personal life has become the latest source of turbulence in an offseason already filled with major change.

According to TMZ, Herro and Henry have filed competing court petitions involving custody and child support for their daughter, born in 2021, and their son, born in 2023.

Herro initially asked the court to establish a parenting schedule and determine how much support he should pay. He also said he had been voluntarily providing financial support since the children were born. That filing was later dismissed by Herro.

Henry then filed her own petition, saying the pair had been in a romantic relationship for nearly seven years and that she had been the children’s primary caregiver and responsible for most major decisions concerning them.

Henry seeks primary custody

Henry is asking for primary custody while maintaining that she wants the children to continue having a relationship with Herro . Her filing also referred to Herro ’s “historical conduct,” though she deliberately did not describe that conduct in detail.

According to the filing, Henry said she “intentionally omitted” those specifics “out of respect for him,” while arguing that “safeguards and parameters should be implemented on a temporary and permanent basis in order to ensure the safety and well-being” of the children.

The filing doesn't establish what conduct Henry was referring to, and the case remains unresolved. She also pointed to the financial disparity between the two, noting Herro’s substantial income as an NBA player as part of her request for support.

Legal dispute follows dramatic few months

The court case arrives after Herro ’s seven-year run with the Miami Heat ended in one of the biggest transactions of the offseason.

He was traded to Milwaukee in the blockbuster deal involving Giannis Antetokounmpo , forcing Herro to adjust to a new team and a new role after spending his entire NBA career in Miami.

Not long afterward, ESPN’s Shams Charania reported that Herro and Adebayo got into a physical altercation at a practice court in a Las Vegas hotel.

Adebayo reportedly confronted Herro over comments the guard had made about his former teammate following the trade, and the situation escalated to the point where Adebayo struck Herro in the head area.

That incident added another layer of drama to an already unsettled offseason. Herro is now preparing to begin his first season with the Bucks while also dealing with a family court case that could determine both custody arrangements and future financial obligations.

The basketball transition alone would have made this a significant offseason for the former Heat guard.

Instead, the trade, the confrontation with Adebayo and now the custody dispute have combined to make it one of the most difficult stretches of his professional and personal life.
