Angel Reese is still playing for a WNBA championship. Caitlin Clark’s season with the Indiana Fever ended in the first round. Now Reese has another early lead over her former college rival: her Reebok collaboration hit stores three days before Clark’s Halloween-themed Nike shoes are due out.

Reese’s new Reebok Angel Reese 1 “REESE’S” is built around the candy’s familiar orange, brown and yellow colors. The design also nods to Reese’s fans, many of whom call themselves the “Reese’s Pieces.” “We designed this colorway especially for my fans,” Reese said. The shoes went on sale Oct. 20 for $160. Reebok lists an Energy Return System underfoot and a molded TPU upper designed to provide stability and durability.

Clark’s Halloween Nikes bring the glow

Clark’s * Nike Caitlin 1 “Jinx” takes a darker route. The black shoe has Ghost Green accents that glow in the dark, giving her signature model a Halloween look .

Nike says the Caitlin 1 uses an Air Zoom Turbo unit with Cushlon foam and a lightweight Opticast upper. The “Jinx” colorway is set to release Oct. 23 for $150.

The designs turn expectations on their head: Clark’s shoe is the spooky, attention-grabbing one, while Reese’s gets the playful candy palette.

Reese’s collaboration also ties directly to her fans ; Clark’s Halloween design draws on the story of Jinx, a neighborhood cat that frightened her when she was young.

Their games offer a different kind of contrast. Clark averaged 22.3 points and 8.3 assists per game for Indiana this season , ranking among the WNBA’s top scorers and playmakers.

Angel averaged 16.4 points and a league-best 12.1 rebounds for Atlanta. She set a league record with 32 double-doubles and became the first Dream player to win Defensive Player of the Year.

The Fever’s season ended with a 94-83 loss to the Las Vegas Aces on Oct. 1. Reese and the Atlanta Dream, meanwhile, are preparing to host the Golden State Valkyries for Game 3 of the WNBA Finals on Wednesday.

The series is tied 1-1, and the game is scheduled for 8 p.m. ET on USA Network and CNBC, with streaming on Peacock.
