Since entering the league in 2024 both Angel Reese and Caitlin Clark have rewritten the history books, with Clark setting a new season high in assists ( 337 ) during her rookie campaign, a record that was broken the following year with 357 , alongside recording the most assists in a single game with 19 .

Meanwhile, Reese is thoroughly enjoying her new chapter after being traded to Atlanta this season, where she has shattered the WNBA single-season record for most double-doubles with 29 .

She has also rewritten single-game and single-season rebounding standards that feature hauling down 26 boards in a single contest and accumulating 485 total rebounds , a milestone benchmark she aims to push even higher before the regular season concludes as she chases becoming the first player ever to reach 500 rebounds in a single year .

Angel Reese Matches Caitlin Clark With Elite Weekly Honor

Both of those historic rebounding milestones for Reese occurred last week, prompting the WNBA to award her the Eastern Conference Player of the Week honor for the second consecutive week and the fourth time in her professional career, following a dominant stretch where she averaged 14.0 PPG, 17.7 RPG, and 3.7 APG .

With this latest accolade, Reese joins Caitlin Clark as the only players in the league to capture back-to-back Player of the Week awards this season.

Now, as both stars prepare to join forces as teammates for the United States at the FIBA Women's Basketball World Cup in Berlin, they will soon return to WNBA action where Atlanta and Indiana are projected to face off in a high-voltage playoff series, as both squads look to cement the fourth and fifth seeds in the standings to set up what would undoubtedly be the most-watched postseason series in league history.
