Angel Reese reclaims her throne as the Queen of the South in triumphant LSU return
Reese received a hero’s welcome from the place where her basketball career took off

T he Bayou Barbie is back at LSU. Although Angel Reese did not get to lift the WNBA trophy this season, she was welcomed like a champion when she returned to the college that helped establish her as one of basketball’s biggest names. She made the visit alongside a proud Kim Mulkey, reuniting with the coach who guided her during her time with the Tigers.
Despite the warm reception and the overwhelming support from the crowd, some fans noticed that Reese still appeared a little down . The loss to the Golden State Valkyries was a tough one, especially after a series that felt like it had slipped away from her team. But that did not stop the LSU faithful from celebrating her return and giving her the title of Queen of the South.
A champion in Baton Rouge
Reese's return was well deserved after what she accomplished during her two seasons at LSU. The Tigers posted a 65-8 record during her time with the program, won a national championship and reached the Elite Eight the following year. She averaged 20.9 points and 14.4 rebounds per game in Baton Rouge, establishing herself as one of the most dominant players in college basketball.
She was also honored before the game, walking onto the court alongside Mulkey as the crowd cheered. Her former coach then presented her with a large bouquet of flowers, adding another moment to an emotional homecoming . Reese went on to reach the WNBA Finals after putting together one of the strongest performances of her professional career.
Reese plans to focus on herself during the offseason
Now that her season is over, Reese is preparing to take some time away from her usual commitments. Earlier this week, she announced on Instagram that she would dedicate the offseason to herself, which also means stepping away from podcasting. However, she will continue sharing some of her life through vlogs on YouTube.
After encouraging her followers to subscribe to her channel, Reese revealed that she plans to spend the offseason living in Florida. Her schedule will include resting, working out, quietly developing her personal brand and spending time supporting and being there for her partner.
