Caitlin Clark and Indiana Fever stars steal the spotlight before a bitter night against New York Liberty

Indiana Fever's night began with fashion and ended with tension on the court. Before facing New York Liberty at Barclays Center , Caitlin Clark, Sophie Cunningham and Monique Billings arrived in three completely different looks, once again showing off their individual personalities away from the court.

Indiana stayed in the game for much of the night but ultimately fell 109-102 to New York after a tense finish in which every possession could have changed the outcome.

Caitlin Clark kept things simple and elegant

Clark arrived before the game wearing beige jeans , a brown top and brown pointed-toe shoes, completing the look with her hair down.

The Fever star kept things relaxed, without too many accessories or flashy details, while the neutral tones gave her outfit a polished appearance for her arrival at Barclays Center.

Clark carried that presence onto the court and became one of Indiana's main offensive weapons. The guard finished with 21 points, seven assists and four rebounds, while shooting 9-for-18 from the field .

However, her individual performance was not enough to help the Fever come away with the win.

Sophie Cunningham went for a bolder look

Cunningham took a different approach for her arrival. She wore black jeans and a brown top with a jacket-like appearance, pairing the outfit with open-toe shoes and her hair down.

Her look was darker than Clark's, while still maintaining the casual feel that defined Indiana's pregame arrivals.

On the court, Cunningham also found a way to contribute. She finished with 10 points, five assists and two steals after making four of her five shots .

Monique Billings brought the most color

Billings delivered the most eye-catching look of the three . She arrived in a blue mini dress covered in yellow and white flowers, paired with a pink handbag and a sunflower accessory.

White heels, her hair down and pink flower earrings completed a much more colorful outfit than those chosen by her teammates.

Her night on the court, however, proved much more difficult. Billings finished with four points, two rebounds, one assist and one steal in 14 minutes .

Foul trouble limited her impact. She picked up five personal fouls and fouled out of the game, while also missing two free throws in the fourth quarter.

The Fever will have to bounce back quickly

Indiana will not have much time to dwell on the disappointing result. On Sunday, August 23, the Fever will return to action against the Chicago Sky at Wintrust Arena .
