Caitlin Clark doesn’t hold back after Fever collapse against Aces: “An F”
Caitlin Clark didn’t sugarcoat Indiana’s playoff collapse.

The Indiana Fever got off to a rough start in their 2026 WNBA playoff run. After falling in Game 1 to the Las Vegas Aces , team star Caitlin Clark did not hesitate to deliver a harsh self-assessment of the defensive struggles displayed on the court.
When asked during the postgame press conference what grade she would give Indiana’s defensive performance, Clark’s response was direct and without hesitation:
The franchise shared its star player’s reaction, and the video quickly went viral. Clark’s criticism came after a night in which Las Vegas dominated offensively, especially in the first half, when the Aces shot a staggering 64.9% from the field before halftime.
The driving force behind the Aces’ offensive explosion was A'ja Wilson , who delivered a dominant performance with 38 points, 16 rebounds, and four blocks.
Struggling on offense and vulnerable on defense
Indiana’s offense also failed to provide enough answers. Caitlin Clark finished with 15 points , while Kelsey Mitchell added 12 points , with the two combining to shoot a disappointing 10-for-33 from the field. The Fever’s leading scorer was Aliyah Boston, who finished with 18 points, eight rebounds, and four assists.
The result exposed Indiana’s biggest weakness throughout the season. Despite entering the postseason as one of the league’s most dangerous offensive teams, their defense once again became a major issue at the most critical moment.
According to ESPN Stats , the Fever finished the regular season ranked 11th in points allowed and eighth in defensive rating, weaknesses that Las Vegas immediately exploited from the opening tip.
With the best-of-three first-round series now tilted against them, the Fever must make immediate adjustments. Clark’s brutal “F” assessment made one thing clear: inside Indiana’s locker room, they understand that a championship run will be impossible if their defensive effort remains at this level.
