Caitlin Clark fans urge her to follow Angel Reese’s path to the WNBA Finals as coach Stephanie White may stay
Indiana’s front-office shake-up brought major changes

C aitlin Clark is entering her third WNBA season as one of the league’s biggest stars and most recognizable faces. But while Angel Reese is playing in the WNBA Finals with the Atlanta Dream , Clark still hasn’t reached the championship series with the Indiana Fever. That contrast has some fans asking whether she should follow Reese’s lead and find a new home.
The conversation grew louder as Indiana began reshaping its front office. Some Fever fans had hoped the changes would include head coach Stephanie White , whom they believe has not found the right way to get the most out of Clark, Aliyah Boston and Kelsey Mitchell together.
Indiana has confirmed that president of basketball and business operations Kelly Krauskopf is stepping down and that general manager and COO Amber Cox has left the organization. The team plans to conduct a national search for its next GM, but has not announced a replacement.
Caitlin Clark had nothing but gratitude for Stephanie White
White, meanwhile, is expected to remain Indiana’s head coach , according to ESPN sources, though the Fever has not officially confirmed the report. Her coaching has drawn criticism from fans who feel Clark is sometimes underused or pushed into the background.
But Clark herself spoke warmly about White after the season, saying, “I really appreciate Steph.” She also praised the time and effort the coaching staff put into helping the team succeed and said she was grateful for them.
That response doesn’t mean Clark publicly campaigned for White to return. It does show that the relationship may look different from the outside than it does inside the team.
Clark also acknowledged that when a season falls short of expectations, responsibility belongs to the players as well as the coaching staff. Reese’s move to Atlanta wasn’t a guaranteed ticket to the Finals. She arrived in a trade without knowing how the season would unfold, and the Dream hadn’t reached the championship series since 2013, a 13-year wait.
Now, after Atlanta’s 67-62 loss in Game 4, the series is tied 2-2, and Reese has admitted she rushed her shots and didn’t give herself enough time to finish around the basket. Her path is remarkable, but it’s no promise that changing teams will lead to a title.
Still, it’s easy to understand why Fever fans are bringing up Clark’s future now. Indiana is making changes in its front office, while White is reportedly expected to stay as head coach.
Some fans have questioned whether White has made the most of Clark, Aliyah Boston and Kelsey Mitchell together. Maybe Clark stays; maybe the picture looks different next season. But for fans who feel something needs to change, this is a moment to say it out loud.
