As the 30th WNBA playoffs draw closer, the first round opens Sept. 27 as a best-of-three, the eight teams already in ( Lynx, Valkyries, Aces, Dream, Fever, Liberty, Wings, Mystics ) have been locked in for weeks but the seeding is still up for grabs with two games left.

Golden State is chasing Minnesota for first place. The Lynx play the Indiana Fever on the road tonight and at home Thursday; one more Minnesota win would lock the top seed for a second straight year.

For Indiana, a win in those two games would keep them no lower than fifth. The way the bracket is shaping up, a first-round Fever vs. Dream series , Caitlin Clark against Angel Reese , looks like the most-watched matchup in league history.

Nike Caitlin 1 Drops as Fever Close the Regular Season

As the Fever get ready for their last home game of the regular season and the postseason that follows, their star and the league’s biggest name announced with Nike her first signature shoe: the Nike Caitlin 1 . It hits globally Thursday, Oct. 1, at $140 .

Clark spent the last few days teasing the debut on Instagram, posting close-ups of the “Racer Blue” pair. Brand-mate Travis Scott even helped unveil a black fashion edition, a sign of how big this launch is.

The shoe introduces Nike Opticast , a new upper made of cast polyurethane nodes built to Clark’s specs and her game. Expect to see the Caitlin 1 on the street and in pickup runs as soon as it drops.

Clark’s MVP-Level Season Sets Up a Historic Playoff Spotlight

That off-court heat matches what she is doing on the floor. After missing most of last season, Clark is an MVP candidate in a historic year. She is running the most productive offense in league history as the third-best scorer at 22.7 points per game and the assist leader at 8.4 per game .

No player has ever finished top five in both; in the two seasons she has stayed healthy, she is on track to finish first in assists, showing her court vision is unmatched.

A Fever-Dream series would put Clark vs. Reese in front of the biggest TV audience the WNBA has seen since both were drafted in 2024, a rivalry that started in the NCAA and still drives the ratings.
