Caitlin Clark’s Nike shoe set a record now Angel Reese and Reebok are making their move

Nike’s record-setting Caitlin Clark launch set the pace as Reebok responds

Caitlin Clark’s first signature Nike shoe arrived with a launch the company called the biggest ever for a women’s signature sneaker. Now Angel Reese and Reebok are adding their own momentum , with a fresh collaboration that puts two of the WNBA’s most recognizable stars at the center of a growing footwear race.

The Caitlin 1 debuted in the United States on Oct. 1 in two colorways, “Caitlin Blue” and “Warning Code Yellow,” at $140. Nike CEO Elliott Hill said the launch reached 5,000 stores twice the average for a Nike basketball signature shoe. He also said Nike’s women’s signature basketball business grew nearly 500% from fiscal 2022 to fiscal 2026.

Nike’s scale meets Reebok’s comeback

Reebok has been building its own signature line around Reese. The original Angel Reese 1 sold out in all three launch colorways on Reebok’s website within hours in 2025. This week, the brand added another chapter with a Reese’s-inspired version, priced at $160 for adults. Reebok has not released comparable unit or revenue figures for either launch.

The latest Angel Reese 1, created with REESE’S, pairs its orange , brown and yellow candy-inspired look with performance features designed for the court. It has Reebok’s Energy Return System underfoot and a molded upper for stability and durability, plus co-branding on the tongue and sockliner.

The competition extends beyond Clark and Reese. Nike also has signature lines with Sabrina Ionescu and A’ja Wilson , while Puma’s WNBA signature star is Breanna Stewart. Reebok’s bet on Reese gives the brand a high-profile player as it continues to build its presence in basketball.

Caitlin Clark’s next Nike release to watch is the Caitlin 1 “Jinx,” a Halloween colorway with a black upper and glow-in-the-dark green accents. Nike’s Canadian SNKRS page lists it for Oct. 31, while U.S. sneaker reports point to an Oct. 30 release for $150. Fans should check Nike, SNKRS and Clark’s official channels for updates on their local release.

There are signs that more fans are buying women’s basketball shoes. StockX reported that sales of WNBA signature sneakers on its marketplace rose 938% from 2023 to 2024. That figure tracks activity on a resale platform, however, and doesn’t show how many pairs the brands sold through stores.

The real test for both brands will be whether the early excitement turns into sustained sales and whether they share enough numbers to show which one is gaining ground in the growing market for WNBA stars’ signature sneakers.
