C aitlin Clar k once again became a topic of conversation after an interaction that may shed light on her relationship with her coach. The Indiana Feve r star shared a tense moment with head coach Stephanie White during the first quarter against the Washington Mystics , at a time when the team was already in trouble.

With Washington leading 31-17 and 58.7 seconds left in the opening period, Clark walked toward the defensive end, turned toward the bench, and expressed her frustration directly at White in full view of everyone .

The exchange stood out because it came just days after the coach had publicly praised her star’s leadership, even saying that Clark “sounds like a coach.”

As the first quarter neared its end, Clark waited for play to resume but used the moment to address White on the sideline. The coach listened while the Indiana point guard made her dissatisfaction clear.

The exchange reflected Clark’s competitive personality. She consistently takes on a leadership role on the court and does not hesitate to speak up when she believes corrections are needed.

The Mystics had taken complete control of the game. Washington closed the first quarter ahead 34-19 and went into halftime with a 51-30 lead .

Kiki Iriafen was key with 21 points and 14 rebounds, while Shakira Austin added 20 points and 10 rebounds in the 93-77 victory.

For Indiana, Clark finished with 25 points and five assists, and Kelsey Mitchell scored 22 points , but the team never mounted a comeback. With two games remaining, Washington moved to within one game of the Fever in the race for the fifth seed.
