Caitlin Clark sends Andy Reid her unreleased ‘Sea of Red’ sneakers and his reaction says it all
Andy Reid couldn’t hide his excitement after receiving Caitlin Clark’s unreleased signature sneakers inspired by the Chiefs’ iconic colors.

C aitlin Clark and the Indiana Fever are on their way to making their third consecutive playoff appearance despite suffering a lopsided loss to the Washington Mystics on Sunday. Washington jumped out to a 51-30 halftime lead and extended the margin to as many as 26 points before the final buzzer.
Despite the defeat, Clark finished the game with 25 points , although she struggled from the field, shooting just 6-of-20 and committing five turnovers. The shooting slump has not affected her overall season, as the Indiana star is averaging 22.7 points per game, the third-best mark in the WNBA , along with 8.4 assists (tied for the league lead) and 3.9 rebounds, while shooting 45.1% from the field, 36.8% from three-point range and 84.8% from the free-throw line.
Indiana still has two games remaining, both against the Minnesota Lynx, the league’s top team. The Fever currently sit in fifth place in the standings and would begin the playoffs on the road unless they can sweep Minnesota and receive help from other results, as only the top four seeds earn home-court advantage.
Caitlin Clark’s new sneaker arrives in Kansas City
However, the biggest storyline surrounding Clark this week has not come from the court, but rather from the release of her first signature sneaker: the Nike Caitlin 1 , which will be available worldwide on October 1 for $140, along with an 18-piece apparel collection.
One special edition of the shoe has already made its way to Kansas City ahead of its official release. The “Sea of Red” colorway, inspired by the colors of the Chiefs, was delivered to head coach Andy Reid, who became the first person to receive the new model.
“I got my new Caitlin 1 ‘Sea of Red’ right here, especially from Caitlin Clark. I appreciate you, girl. All the ladies of the WNBA, you guys are unbelievable. Keep going. Love watching you, Caitlin. I love the color. Look at these things. It’s the same color you wear, and here we are, Chiefs. Love it,” Reid said in a video posted by the Chiefs.
Clark responded to the gesture on her Instagram Story with the message: “LETS GOOOOO ❤️❤️❤️❤️.”
The sneaker features a red-and-gold gradient upper, Clark’s “CC” logo , three metallic silver Swoosh designs, a gold No. 22 stitched into the laces and a matching gold outsole.
