Caitlin Clark sends a message to Rookie of the Year favorite Olivia Miles ahead of Fever’s final regular-season game
The WNBA's 30th regular season concludes this Thursday with five games

The 30th WNBA regular season is down to its last night. Thursday brings the final five games that will lock the standings and the first-round matchups, with the playoffs opening Sunday the 27th . Minnesota Lynx already have the No. 1 seed even after a 96-77 loss to the Indiana Fever , and they close at home against that same Indiana team.
The win did not change much for the Fever. They still need a victory, or a Washington Mystics loss, to hold fifth. Atlanta Dream locked the fourth seed and look like the first-round opponent, which would mean Caitlin Clark versus Angel Reese right away, the series a lot of people expect to be the most watched in years and maybe in the league’s 30-year history.
Caitlin Clark Wants Olivia Miles on the Floor
What stood out in Indiana’s win over Minnesota was who was not there. Olivia Miles , the Rookie of the Year favorite and an MVP candidate , sat out after setting a new rookie scoring mark with 790 points , passing Clark’s 769 from 2024. She has been Minnesota’s best player this year at 19.8 points and 6.0 assists , both team highs and both top 10 in the league.
After the game Clark still made a point of asking for her. “One more, I hope Liv plays, and I think it will be a fun one,” she said with Thursday’s rematch still on the schedule. The Lynx have already ruled Miles out for the finale now that the top seed is secure, so her first regular season is over.
It was historic enough to make the case she should have gone first overall over Azzi Fudd . That is done. Minnesota still has a piece for now and for whatever comes next.
Clark and Mitchell Keep Indiana’s Record Offense Rolling Into the Playoffs
Clark finished that win with 27 points and nine assists and is still in the middle of a season nobody has put together on offense. She sits third in scoring at 22.8 points per game and tied for first in assists at 8.5 . No player has finished top five in both, let alone top three.
Next to Kelsey Mitchell , second in the league at 25.0 points , Indiana has the most explosive attack the WNBA has seen, 96.7 points per game and a record 20 games over 100 .
The two have both cleared 20 points in 22 games , the most by any teammate pair, and they will want that last Thursday to push the count past half of a 44-game season before the bracket starts.
