C aitlin Clark of the Indiana Fever ended up with blood on her face after taking a hit during Thursday night's WNBA playoff game against the Las Vegas Aces .

The blow came in the fourth quarter, when Clark went up for a rebound and an Aces player accidentally elbowed her. Indiana's star fell to the floor and stayed down for a few moments before getting up and heading to the tunnel to be checked out.

It looked like she might miss at least a few minutes, but she returned quickly and finished the game.

Fever head coach Stephanie White made her frustration clear that no foul was called. Clark , understandably upset, argued that the play should have been penalized. When she returned to the court, she made sure to show an official the blood coming from her mouth, and the game had to be stopped because she still had blood on her hands.

The play came at a key moment, as the Fever were trying to rally and stay alive in the decisive Game 3.

The Aces eliminate the Fever

The comeback never arrived: the Aces beat Indiana 94-83 and advanced to the next round.

Las Vegas was powered by a legendary performance from center A'ja Wilson, who finished with 36 points on 11-of-18 shooting from the field, plus 10 rebounds.

Clark had a solid start but couldn't sustain it. The Iowa product finished with 18 points on 6-of-18 shooting . Kelsey Mitchell led Indiana's offense with 23 points, and Aliyah Boston added 19.

Now the Fever will have to begin planning for next season, while the Aces wait for the winner of the series between the Dallas Wings and the Golden State Valkyries, which is tied 1-1 and will be decided Friday.
