The Atlanta Dream 's epic 2026 season will continue on, with the team set to take part in the WNBA Finals . The Dream have won all five of their playoff games to this point, and haven't lost a game since August 28 . Once again, Angel Reese played a vital role for the Dream in the game that clinched a Finals berth for Atlanta.

Reese led the team with 22 points , chipping in with 9 rebounds , 3 assists , 2 blocks , and 1 steal . The Dream trading for Reese from the Chicago Sky is looking like one of the best moves of the offseason, especially after Reese was named the WNBA Defensive Player of the Year .

At 24 years old , Reese became the second-youngest player in WNBA history to win the DPOY award and reach the Finals in the same season . Only seven other players have been able to do that: A'ja Wilson , Tamika Catchings , Sheryl Swoopes , Lisa Leslie , Brittney Griner , Alana Beard , and Natasha Howard .

While speaking to ESPN during her postgame interview, Reese harkened back to her social media post on X, dated October 10, 2025: " manifesting the finals>>> ". That was before she joined the Dream.

I manifested this. When I came to Atlanta, I knew what I was getting. This team has poured so much into me. We've poured so much into each other. I posted and tweeted, 10/10/25, that I was manifesting the Finals, and this is my moment. I'm supposed to be here. I thank God for this moment. And I'm just so thankful... Atlanta, I can't wait to see you in the Finals!

Reese will always have critics, due to her outgoing personality and her style of play. But while others hate, she continues to carve out a strong legacy in the WNBA.
