Paige Bueckers is on the verge of rewriting WNBA history just two seasons into her career
Bueckers and the Wings improved from finishing last season in last place to making the playoffs this year

The WNBA is back after the FIBA Women's World Cup tournament in which Team USA won the gold medal against France in the final.
In the WNBA, the eight teams already qualified for the playoffs are competing for finishing in a better position on the standings, and on last night's games, the four teams qualified, Atlanta Dream , Washington Mystics , Las Vegas Aces , and Dallas Wings , won their matchups.
Aside from the standings, the other critical storyline centers around the major annual awards: for MVP , four-time winner A'ja Wilson stands as the heavy favorite over Indiana Fever stars Caitlin Clark and Kelsey Mitchell .
Meanwhile, for the Rookie of the Year race, the clear winner is second overall pick Olivia Miles , marking the first time since 2021 that the number one overall selection will not capture the prestigious rookie honor.
Paige Bueckers Chases Seimone Augustus' Historic Two-Year WNBA Scoring Record
Olivia Miles has pieced together a historic maiden campaign, averaging 19.7 PPG and 6.0 APG , leading her squad while ranking inside the top eight across the entire association.
Focusing on Bueckers, the Dallas Wings guard recently chipped in 19 points during a dominant 97-77 victory over the Los Angeles Sparks. Following that output, the talented second-year player needs just 25 more points across her final three regular-season games to etch her name permanently into the record books.
Averaging a modest 8.3 points per game over her last trio of contests would officially grant Bueckers the WNBA record for the most total points scored by any player through their first two professional seasons.
That milestone is currently held by Seimone Augustus , who accumulated 1,513 points with an average of 22.3 PPG across the 2006 and 2007 seasons.
Paige's career average sits slightly lower at 19.9 PPG , though she has already logged heavier durability, appearing in 75 WNBA games compared to Augustus' 68 matches during that same initial timeframe.
While this two-year scoring milestone is practically locked up for Bueckers, that specific benchmark could face an immediate challenge next season from Miles, provided she maintains her health.
The surging Wings can cap off their schedule with an impressive eight-game winning streak if they sweep their final three contests against eliminated opponents, playing Phoenix twice and closing out the regular season next Wednesday against the Seattle Storm.
