With Team USA holding a three-point lead and Italy in possession with seconds left in regulation, Zandalasini tried to create space from Jackie Young near the top of the 3-point line.
After a shot fake failed to fool Young, Zandalasini appeared to throw herself to the floor in a desperate attempt to draw a foul, producing one of the most blatant flops of the tournament.
No call was made, and play continued as Zandalasini handed the ball to a teammate before getting it back for one final shot attempt that fell well short.
