The impressive mark set by Olivia Miles that left Caitlin Clark behind
Minnesota's player's performance against Washington ended up adding another notable milestone to the great season the Lynx point guard is having.

O livia Mile s continues to rack up historic numbers; this time she not only reached a milestone but also put her name alongside one of the greatest figures who revolutionized the WNBA.
Minnesota's guard reached 700 points and 200 assists in just 36 games, while Clark needed 37 games to reach those same figures during her rookie campaign. The difference is minimal, but enough for Miles to take the title from Clark and become the fastest to achieve it.
Olivia Miles surpasses Caitlin Clark in a WNBA record
After a 24-point, seven-assist performance against the Washington Mystics, Miles left the game not only with a win alongside her team, but also claiming a new place in WNBA history.
Miles was one of the key players in Minnesota's 94-84 victory, and with those numbers she officially reached the two marks she needed to surpass Clark.
Caitlin had managed in that first 2024 season to reach 700 points and 200 assists in a total of 37 games, while Olivia did it in one fewer game.
What is most interesting is that the record Clark just lost might not be the last one. Miles already has 720 points and has six more games to increase that total . Clark had finished her first season with 769 points, so she needs only 50 points to surpass that mark. And with an average of 20 points per game, Clark's record appears closer and closer.
The picture changes drastically when we talk about assists; the gap is still considerable: Indiana's star finished her rookie season with 337, while Miles has 222.
Thus, what began as a comparison between a young rising star and one of the WNBA’s biggest stars is already starting to make its way into the record books. Olivia Miles has just taken a record away from Caitlin Clark and, with the season still ongoing, it might not be the last.
