Ryan Garcia carefully tried on the gloves he will use against Conor Benn before throwing a few quick punches and tsting how they felt on his hands.
The brief movements offered a glimpse of Garcia’s speed as he completed one of the final checks before stepping into the ring. These are not simply gloves to him; they are the tools he believes can help decide the fight.
Garcia will defend his WBC welterweight title against Benn on September 12 at T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas. He specifically pushed for the fight to be contested with eight-ounce gloves, making his selection even more significant.
