The Briton lost to the undefeated Shamil Erdogan in the second round of ONE Fight Night 48 and later showed the injuries the fight left him with.

Paul Elliott ended the night with a loss and several marks on his face. The British heavyweight fell to Shamil Erdogan in the main event of ONE Fight Night 48 and, hours later, showed how he looked after the fight: eight stitches and a tetanus shot.
Erdogan imposed his game again and found the finish in the second round. Elliott tried to get back up after ending up in a compromised position and left his neck exposed. The Turkish fighter seized the opportunity, locked in a rear-naked choke, known as a lion killer, and forced his opponent to submit at 2:28.

Elliott was quick to show the consequences of the fight. The Briton posted a photo alongside Erdogan in which the injuries he had suffered during the bout could be seen.
“I ended up with eight stitches and a tetanus shot; it’s all part of the job”, Elliott wrote alongside the image.
The Briton also acknowledged his rival's triumph and congratulated him on a victory that ended his streak of two consecutive knockout wins.
His previous performance had been especially striking. Elliott needed just six seconds to defeat Regan Upshaw, a victory that tied the record for the fastest knockout in the history of ONE Championship.
Erdogan remains undefeated and asks for the belt
For Shamil Erdogan , the night had a very different ending. The Turk won again and improved his professional record to 14-0, in addition to receiving a $50,000 bonus for his performance.
After the fight, Erdogan used the interview to call for a shot at the vacant heavyweight world championship.
“I have to fight for the belt. I don’t care against whom,” he said.
The victory also confirmed the dominance he had shown throughout much of the fight. Erdogan used his wrestling to take Elliott to the ground and ultimately found the submission when the Briton tried to get up.
The result handed Elliott his first defeat since his winning streak began, but also left him with an image that sums up the brutality of the fight: eight stitches, a tetanus shot, and a photograph alongside the man who had just defeated him.
