Cristiano Ronaldo has called for lifetime stadium bans after fans appeared to mock Portugal teammate Ruben Neves by repeatedly chanting the name of late footballer Diogo Jota during Al-Hilal’s 6-0 win over Al-Taawoun.
Ronaldo condemned the behavior as crossing the line, while Neves, who now wears Jota’s No. 21 shirt for Portugal and has a tattoo of the two embracing, also expressed his anger after the match. The Saudi Arabian Football Federation has confirmed that the incident is under investigation.
