Hackers attack the Corinthians website and announce Messi's signing
In the fake news story, they even offered details of a fake deal

The official website of the Brazilian club Corinthians was targeted in the early hours of this Saturday by hackers, who published an extensive statement announcing the alleged signing of Argentine Lionel Messi as the team’s main reinforcement for 2027.
The false statement from one of the most popular clubs in Brazil detailed the operation that had supposedly made it possible to sign the Argentine star, currently with American Inter Miami , and included statements attributed to the player in which he said he was happy for the opportunity to play in Brazilian football.
The announcement, which surprised some fans of the São Paulo club, was removed shortly afterward, when those responsible for the page detected the intrusion and replaced the contents with a notice that the platform was under maintenance.
They offered details of an alleged financial deal
The hackers even presented a supposed financial operation to justify the deal, which would have allowed Corinthians to sign the captain of the Argentine national team despite the high cost of his transfer.
The club later confirmed that it had suffered a cyberattack targeting its official website and assured that its information technology team managed to neutralize it quickly.
In a statement, Corinthians said that no financial losses or breach of data or information belonging to the institution had been found.
As a preventive measure, the team decided to strengthen the security protocols of its digital platforms and temporarily take both its official website and that of its stadium, the Neo Química Arena, out of service while it carried out the necessary technical checks.
The attack occurred just a few hours after Corinthians defeated Mirassol 2-0 in a match corresponding to the thirty-third round of the Brazilian Championship.
The result did not prevent the team, one of the most popular in Brazil but facing a serious slump in results, from remaining among the bottom four in the League standings, who are punished with relegation.
The invasion of the Corinthians website took place just a few days after the official page of its historic rival, Palmeiras , was also the target of a cyberattack.
Those responsible for the intrusion posted provocative messages about the absence of a world title for the green-and-white team, one of the main protagonists in both the Brazilian Championship and the Copa Libertadores in recent years
