The consequences Cristiano Ronaldo faces after leaving the Portuguese national team

According to the Disciplinary Regulations of the Portuguese Football Federation (FPF) , Cristiano risks a sanction that may include a suspension of between one and six months and a financial fine.
"Any player who, having been duly called up, unjustifiably leaves or fails to attend a training session, a match or any activity of the national teams or related to the sporting representation of the FPF or Portugal, shall be sanctioned with a suspension from one to six months and, additionally, if the player is a professional, with a fine of between 5 and 10 UCs [between approximately 500 and 1,000 euros, with 102 euros per unit of account]," the regulations state.
'Furthermore, the second paragraph of article 160 of the FPF Regulations states the following: "Absence or abandonment entail the automatic preventive suspension of the player under the terms established in these regulations," the text adds.'
Two statements without explanations
Officially, the Portuguese Football Federation confirmed on Wednesday afternoon in a statement that Cristiano was leaving the training camp, but without explaining the reasons , and assured that preparations for the matches against Denmark and Norway would continue as planned with the other 24 called-up players. "The entire delegation remains fully focused on the national team's upcoming commitments and on achieving the defined objectives," the body stated.
Cristiano , for his part, also spoke out through social media, where he stated that he will explain the reasons later on for making the decision to leave.
