Cavan Sullivan continues writing his great story in MLS. The young American player, 16 years old (he will turn 17 next September 28), helped Philadelphia Union achieve a memorable comeback against Sporting KC.

Kansas were leading 3-0 with goals in the opening minutes from Andre Luiz (a brace) and Meyer, but what happened from the 64th to the 73rd minute will hardly be forgotten by the fans of either team.

In less than ten minutes, the team of the promising Sullivan (he has a pre-agreement with City for when he comes of age) managed to turn the scoreboard around like a sock. Damiani started the comeback, and two minutes later Sullivan appeared at the penalty spot to send his shot into the net and make it 3-2 temporarily.

With Philadelphia Union all-out in attack, Iloski’s equalizer arrived, followed by the decisive own goal from Bassong that ultimately gave victory to Cavan Sullivan’s team, who sit sixth in the Eastern Conference after seven consecutive matches without defeat (5 wins and 2 draws) in MLS.

The incredible streak of Cavan Sullivan

Cavan Sullivan’s brilliant current form has earned him a place for the first time in Mauricio Pochettino’s squad for the upcoming international fixtures for the United States.

The teenager has tallied 5 goals and 7 assists during Philadelphia's unbeaten run, and is beginning to confirm the high expectations that had been placed on him as a future star for the USMNT.
