Cavan Sullivan wants to change how the world sees American soccer after earning first USMNT call-up

Cavan Sullivan has a much bigger ambition than simply becoming the next young American player to succeed in Europe. The 16-year-old wants to transform the way people think about soccer players developed in the United States.
Sullivan believes American talent can be crafty, skillful and entertaining not only athletic or physically strong. His confidence and creativity have made him one of the most exciting young players in MLS.
Now he has received his first senior USMNT call-up. Mauricio Pochettino included the Philadelphia Union forward in a youthful 28-player roster for the upcoming matches against Peru, Chile, Mexico and Canada.
The call-up represents another remarkable step for Sullivan, who made his MLS debut at only 14 and has already agreed to join Manchester City when he turns 18.
