Lionel Messi's new luxury: this is the 2,000 HP yacht valued at nearly $10 million
The vessel will feature five cabins, fold-out terraces, a garage for a jet ski, and two 1,000-horsepower engines.

Lionel Messi commissioned a Sunreef ULTIMA 88, a luxury catamaran that is currently under construction at the company's shipyard in the United Arab Emirates. Once completed, the vessel will become part of MIM Ocean, the fleet linked to the footballer and based in the Balearic Islands.
The exact price of the order is not known. Sunreef Yachts has not disclosed the value of the contract, although various publications place a ULTIMA 88 with these characteristics at between 8 and 9 million euros, approximately between 9 and 10.5 million dollars .
This will be Messi's new catamaran
The vessel commissioned by the captain of Inter Miami will be 26.8 meters long and will be equipped with two 1,000-horsepower engines each, for a total of 2,000 HP. The customized layout will include a master suite that spans the full width of the boat and four additional guest cabins.
Among its main features is the so-called Ocean Lounge, an area at the stern with fold-down side terraces , a hydraulic platform, and direct access to the sea. It will also have a garage specifically designed to store a jet ski, as well as a flybridge and various outdoor spaces intended for relaxation and onboard activities.
The ULTIMA 88 will not be intended exclusively for Messi's private use. The vessel will join MIM Ocean, the catamaran charter project developed from the partnership between the footballer's MIM Hotels chain's experience and the specialized company Med Cat Yachts.
Currently, MIM Ocean offers three Bali 5.4 catamarans. During the European summer, the fleet operates mainly in the Balearic Islands, while between December and April it shifts part of its activity to the Caribbean and the Bahamas. The arrival of the Sunreef will expand that offering with a larger, higher-performance motor yacht.
Messi explained that his interest in the project is also related to the moments he spends at sea with his family. “It is a real pleasure to join the Sunreef family. My family and I have always enjoyed spending time at sea whenever we have the opportunity,” he said in the statement released by the shipyard. He added that Sunreef’s design and features match what he was looking for.
The Argentine thus joins a list of athletes linked to Sunreef that includes Rafael Nadal, Carlos Alcaraz, Robert Lewandowski, Fernando Alonso and Nico Rosberg . The company has turned sports figures into some of the most recognizable owners and ambassadors of its vessels.
Sunreef has not publicly announced either the final delivery date or the final price of the order, and the rates the vessel will have when it joins MIM Ocean's offering in the Balearic Islands are also not yet known.
