The Manchester City , according to what the main media outlets in England are reporting, has been found guilty on practically all the charges related to breaches of the Premier League's financial regulations of which it was accused. No sanction has yet been officially announced , and City is expected to appeal the decision.

Although the club has repeatedly denied it, the independent commission that ruled on the case has found it guilty in almost all the cases in which there were suspicions.

The Premier League charged City in February 2023 with failing to provide accurate financial information or the correct details of payments to coaches and players between the 2009-2010 and 2017-2018 seasons , with failing to comply with UEFA's Financial Fair Play regulations between 2009 and 2018 and with the Premier League's between 2015-2016 and 2017-2018 . As well as with failing to cooperate with the Premier's investigations that took place between December 2018 and February 2023.

The position of Manchester City FC remains consistent with the club's statement from February 2023

"The Premier League process is still ongoing, with important details yet to be completed, and it is subject to strict confidentiality . Therefore, Manchester City FC's position remains consistent with the club's statement from February 2023 ," a City spokesperson said, as reported by The Telegraph.

“Throughout eight years, the club has diligently respected due process, on the basis that the board of directors and the Premier League executive committee would behave as an independent, impartial and fair regulatory body, free from partisan influences,” it continues.

City has denied all the charges from the outset and hired some of the best sports lawyers in the United Kingdom to try to clear its name and avoid a sanction that could range from a financial fine to a points deduction, relegation, and even the loss of titles.
