Surreal episode in England . A report from a neighbor mobilized at least six patrol cars on Wednesday afternoon in Northumberland . The man warned that two people were walking with a bow and several arrows next to a reservoir in Harlow Hill , on the outskirts of Newcastle. One of them was Amar Dedic , a 24-year-old Bosnia international and right-back for Newcastle United , as reported by the Daily Mail .

Northumbria Police received the report shortly after 1:55 p.m. and deployed marked and unmarked vehicles. According to the British newspaper, armed units were reportedly among them. Officers located Dedic and his companion about eleven kilometers from the reservoir, in the residential area of Darras Hall . There they stopped the car, searched it, seized the bow and arrows, and asked the footballer what he had been doing. During the operation, Mark Gillespie , Newcastle's goalkeeper, and Paul Dummett , the club's former defender, appeared. According to the Daily Mail, both were passing by by chance and stopped to offer help.

After speaking with the two men, the police determined that there was no risk to the public and stated that, in principle, the material was for recreational use. The investigations remain open. According to the Daily Mail, Dedic and his companion had allegedly shot some arrows in the field. It is unknown what they were aiming at.

Newcastle do not plan to sanction him

Newcastle paid £30 million to Benfica for Dedic last summer. The Bosnian has made an impact at right-back despite the team's difficult start to the season. The Daily Mail reports that the club considers it unwise for the player to have walked around the field with the bow and arrows and does not plan to open a disciplinary proceeding against him.

Dedic played on Monday in the 1-0 defeat to Everton and is expected to be available this Saturday for the visit to Fulham in the Premier League . Newcastle come into the match with four defeats in their last five games across all competitions.
