raheem Sterling, a footballer who was capped 82 times by England and played for Arsenal, Chelsea, Liverpool and Manchester City, was involverd in an accident in his Lamborghini Urus and was arrested by the police near the Minley interchange on the M3 motorway (Hampshire).

A female driver told police that, when she looked toward the other vehicle, she saw the Lamborghini driver with a balloon (inflated with the drug hippy crack) in front of his face; it was so large that she even thought it was an airbag.

I recognized Sterling immediately and then saw that he was holding a balloon in his hands; I couldn't believe it, I knew at once that it had to be laughing gas. It struck me as utterly reckless behavior while driving

It was early in the morning and I saw the Lamborghini on the motorway while I was on my way to work, so I quickly looked out of curiosity to see who was driving it. I recognized Sterling immediately and then saw that he had a balloon in his hands; I couldn't believe it, I knew instantly it had to be laughing gas. It struck me as completely reckless behavior while driving... I could have had an accident with him that day and my children would have been left without a mother; his behavior is totally unacceptable, the driver explained to the newspaper "The Sun" .

The 31-year-old forward, who played for Feyenoord last season, admitted to having a problem with nitrous oxide use (the popular hippy crack, or laughing gas, the use of which has been punishable in England since 2023).

Sterling has pleaded guilty to the charge of dangerous driving , drug possession , and an additional charge for failing to provide a breath sample.

Sterling had droopy eyelids, a sign consistent with fatigue or drug intoxication

During the hearing at the Basingstoke Magistrates' Court , it was stated that Sterling was so affected by laughing gas that he was unable to perform basic tests at the police station, such as touching his nose with his finger or walking by placing one foot in front of the other.

Sterling appeared quiet, withdrawn, and lethargic, in addition to seeming restless and constantly moving. His eyelids were drooping, a sign consistent with fatigue or drug intoxication. He claimed to feel very cold, despite the fact that we were in the middle of a heat wave, with temperatures of 33 degrees," described lawyer Simon Jones.

This was Sterling's arrest after being caught taking drugs while driving recklessly

The "Daily Mail" reports that the police bodycam footage shows the moment when Sterling was arrested with six nitrous oxide canisters and a deflated balloon on his lap .

Put down the phone, stop playing games. Don't tense up

An officer is heard telling the footballer "you can leave that there" after opening the car door.

He is then seen removing the items from his lap and placing them behind the seat.

They ask Sterling "can you step out for a moment?" and who was driving at the time of the accident, but he does not respond.

'The police officer adds: " So you refuse to answer, alright" .'

Sterling is ordered to get out of the vehicle; at the roadside they ask his name and age, and tell him: "Put the phone down, stop playing games. Don't tense up".

Next, he is read his rights and placed under arrest, after being asked to put his arms behind his back.
