Tour Championship 2026 Payout: How much are players and winner getting this year?
Thirty players are competing for the richest purse of the PGA Tour season, with millions at stake near the top

By the time the final putt drops at East Lake Golf Club , the 2026 PGA Tour season will have produced one of the biggest paydays in golf.
The Tour Championship carries a $40 million purse, with the winner set to collect $10 million along with the FedEx Cup . That top prize represents a quarter of the entire purse and is twice as much as the $5 million scheduled for the runner-up.
With only 30 players in the field and no cut, everyone who qualifies for the season finale is guaranteed a substantial check. Even the player finishing 30th is set to earn $355,000.
Defending champion Tommy Fleetwood returns to East Lake as the man to beat, but the financial stakes are enormous throughout the leaderboard.
Biggest money is concentrated near top
The difference between first and second place alone is $5 million, making Sunday’s final holes potentially worth more than many players earn across an entire season.
Third place is scheduled to pay $3.705 million, while fourth is worth $3.2 million and fifth brings $2.75 million.
The payouts remain in seven figures through eighth place, where the prize is $1.065 million. Ninth earns $900,000 and 10th receives $735,000.
That structure means a late birdie or bogey could have a significant financial impact even for players who are well outside the fight for the trophy.

Ties can change the final amount
Those figures apply when players finish alone in each position.
If two or more golfers are tied, the prize money for the affected finishing places is combined and split evenly between them.
That can significantly alter the amount each player receives compared with the standard payout table.
The structure also underlines just how valuable every place is at East Lake . Moving even a few positions up the leaderboard can be worth hundreds of thousands of dollars.
Still, nothing compares with the reward at the top. The champion leaves Atlanta with the FedEx Cup and $10 million, making the Tour Championship not only the final event of the season but also one of its most lucrative.
