Solheim Cup Prize Pool: The surprising amount of money the winners get
The Solheim Cup does things much differently than practically every other golf tournament.
The 2026 Solheim Cup will get underway on September 11 and run for three days. This year, it will take place in the Netherlands , on Team Europe 's home turf. This will be the 20th edition of the international tournament , with Team USA looking to improve their 11-7-1 all-time series lead over Europe.
With Anna Nordqvist leading the way for Europe and Angela Stanford doing the same for USA, it's set to be a thrilling event. The winners of the event will have bragging rights over their international golf peers. And that's about all they will have.
Do Solheim Cup winners get paid?
Many fans have been surprised with the idea of a tournament winner not getting any financial prize, but that's exactly how the Solheim Cup works. None of the 12 winning players earn any money if they come out victorious . The winners get the Solheim Cup trophy, plus national pride.
In a day and age where everything seems to be monetized, the Solheim Cup is more traditional. It's simply 24 of the best golfers in the world going toe-to-toe to win it for their country or continent .
