Chilling details of the scene: What the medical examiner found on a table next to Hayden Panettiere's body
Panettiere died on August 16 from a drug overdose.
New details from the medical examiner’s report have shed light on the scene surrounding Hayden Panettiere ’s death, including pressed pills containing fentanyl that were found near where the actress was discovered. The report outlines the final hours of her life after a senior deputy coroner responded to an Airbnb in Greenville, South Carolina , on August 16 where she was staying at the property with her on-again, off-again boyfriend Brian Hickerson .
According to the report as per TMZ, one of the brothers said he saw Panettiere applying makeup at around 10:30am before he later returned to bed before being awakened by a knock. The brothers then discovered her face down in a sitting position on a sofa bed, with her legs crossed and had noticed she had turned deep purple and could not wake her. Two doses of Narcan were administered before 911 was called and one brother told investigators it had been needed in the past, and noted he didn’t know if she had used illicit drugs during the previous days because “she was very good at hiding them.” The medical examiner’s report states that blue pressed pills testing positive for fentanyl were found on a table, alongside a straw. White powder was also found inside a sunglasses case. The report also says Panettiere had fentanyl , alprazolam , a muscle relaxer and a medication used to treat major depression, bipolar disorder and schizophrenia in her system. She had also been in rehab weeks before her death, adding another detail to the circumstances being examined by investigators of which the Drug Enforcement Administration is now investigating.
