Diddy’s prison release date moves up again as he gets 15 days closer to freedom
Federal records now list February 5, 2028, but the music mogul’s constantly changing countdown may not be settled yet

T he calendar keeps moving for Sean “Diddy” Combs. The music mogul’s projected prison release date has been changed once again, bringing him more than two weeks closer to freedom.
Federal Bureau of Prisons records now list February 5, 2028, as the date Combs is expected to leave FCI Fort Dix in New Jersey. His previous release date was February 20, meaning the latest adjustment removes exactly 15 days from his time behind bars.
No official explanation has been provided for the change. Federal release dates are projections and can move because of sentence calculations, earned credits, participation in prison programs or disciplinary decisions. Combs’ date has already changed several times, so February 5 is not necessarily final.
Diddy’s prison timeline keeps changing
The latest adjustment follows a turbulent period at Fort Dix. Combs was reportedly involved in a fight with another inmate and spent a brief period in solitary confinement. Around that time, his projected release date moved from January 24 to February 20. The Bureau of Prisons has not said whether the altercation or any disciplinary action was connected to those changes.
Combs was sentenced in October 2025 to 50 months in federal prison after a jury convicted him on two counts of transporting individuals across state lines for prostitution. The same jury acquitted him of the more serious racketeering conspiracy and sex-trafficking charges. He received credit for time already served following his September 2024 arrest.
For now, February 5, 2028, is the closest thing Combs has to a finish line. But after watching that date move forward, backward and forward again, even that countdown should be written in pencil.
