Former NFL star Kroy Biermann son's arrested on serious charges as legal process begins
Authorities launched an investigation following the complaint

The son of former NFL linebacker Kroy Biermann and former “Real Housewives of Atlanta” star Kim Zolciak is at the center of a developing legal case that has drawn significant public attention. Kroy “KJ” Biermann Jr., 15, was arrested Monday and charged with aggravated sodomy and aggravated sexual battery following allegations stemming from an incident that allegedly occurred in April at a fitness center in Alpharetta, Georgia.
According to court documents filed in Fulton County Juvenile Court, KJ is being held without bond, and a hearing has been scheduled for Sept. 1. The allegations involve a female classmate who told authorities that KJ assaulted her inside a co-ed sauna at a Life Time fitness facility on April 23. According to the court filings, the girl alleged that KJ attempted multiple times to have sexual intercourse with her despite her objections and further accused him of forcing oral sex and digitally penetrating her.
The accuser told investigators that she eventually managed to leave the area and later contacted family members after experiencing a panic attack the following day. She was subsequently examined at North Fulton Hospital in Georgia.
Authorities launched an investigation following the complaint
According to the police report, medical testing conducted after the alleged incident did not find male DNA in the victim’s mouth or vagina. Court records also indicate that while KJ did not scan into the gym on the day in question, investigators reportedly identified him in security camera footage.
Authorities launched an investigation following the complaint. Police reportedly attempted to contact Kroy Biermann in May regarding the matter. The former NFL playe r later spoke with investigators and indicated he would discuss the situation with Zolciak regarding potential communication with their son.
KJ’s attorney, Jason Sheffield, has strongly denied the allegations on behalf of his client. In a statement, Sheffield said KJ is “100% innocent” and claimed he attempted to provide investigators with evidence supporting his client’s innocence, including the results of a polygraph examination. Sheffield also asserted that there was evidence involving prior allegations made by the accuser, though those claims have not been independently verified in court.
Zolciak also issued a statement defending her son and criticizing what she described as premature judgments surrounding the case. She stated that KJ denies the allegations and pointed to the reported lack of DNA evidence and the polygraph examination as factors she believes support his innocence. The reality television personality also urged the public to allow the legal process to unfold before reaching conclusions.
Arrest comes during a turbulent period for the Biermann family
The case has generated widespread attention in part because of KJ’s family background . His father, Kroy Biermann, enjoyed a successful NFL career after being selected by the Atlanta Falcons in the fifth round of the 2008 NFL Draft . Biermann spent most of his professional career with the Falcons and became a well-known figure in Atlanta sports before retiring from football.
KJ himself has been active in youth athletics, particularly football. Earlier this year, Zolciak publicly praised her son’s dedication to the sport in a birthday tribute, highlighting his work ethic, discipline, and commitment to pursuing his athletic goals.
The arrest comes during a turbulent period for the Biermann family, as Zolciak and Biermann have been navigating a highly publicized divorce since 2023. The former couple share four children together, including KJ, while Biermann also adopted Zolciak’s two daughters from a previous relationship.
