The news of Jennifer Eckhart’s death came as a shock to those who knew her work both in and outside of television. The former Fox News producer died on Saturday, September 19, at 36 , leaving behind a professional story that ultimately took a very different direction from where it began.

How did Jennifer Eckhart die?

According to reports from Florida authorities, Jennifer died by suicide. Her body was found on September 19 at her residence in Hobe Sound, in Martin County.

The news comes after several years in which Eckhart spoke publicly about difficult moments in her life, although that does not establish a direct connection between those experiences and her death.

Jennifer Eckhart worked at Fox News for seven years

Jennifer was born and raised in Miami, Florida, but her professional career eventually took her to New York. She spent approximately seven years working for Fox Business Network and Fox News , primarily as an associate producer for financial programs.

In that role, she had access to some of the biggest names in the business world. Among them were Warren Buffett and Elon Musk , whom she interviewed during her time at the network.

Her career, however, took an unexpected turn in 2020.

The case against Ed Henry changed her public life

That year, Jennifer filed a lawsuit against Ed Henry, a former Fox News host whom she accused of sexual abuse and rape .

The case received significant attention and continued for several years. Eventually, in June 2025, both sides reached an out-of-court settlement.

After that, Eckhart began building a new chapter away from television and turning her own experience into a way of supporting others.

She founded The Reinvented Project, a nonprofit organization that seeks to help trauma survivors through animal-assisted therapy. She later launched the podcast REINVENTED with Jen Eckhart, where she spoke with figures from sports, music and entertainment about difficult moments they had faced and the ways they managed to move forward.
