Madonna buys Angelina Jolie's mansion in Los Angeles for 22 million dollars, seven million less than the actress was asking
The singer becomes the new owner of the historic residence, which belonged to legendary producer Cecil B. DeMille and which Angelina Jolie acquired in 2017 after her separation from Brad Pitt

Madonna has acquired a new property in Los Angeles. The artist is said to have purchased for 22 million dollars the mansion that Angelina Jolie put up for sale last May for 29.85 million dollars . In this way, the singer of "Vogue" is said to have managed to close the deal for almost seven million euros less than the actress's initial asking price.
The property, located in one of the most exclusive areas of Los Angeles, became the home of Angelina Jolie and her children after the actress separated from Brad Pitt in 2017. Six months after hitting the market, the mansion already has a new owner and is once again linked to one of Hollywood's biggest stars.
The residence also stands out for its significant historical value. The house was built in 1913 and designed by architect B. Cooper Corbett, known for his work on luxury homes and for his innovative use of concrete. In 1916 it was acquired by Cecil B. DeMille, one of the great producers and directors in Hollywood history, responsible for films such as "Sunset Boulevard" and "Samson and Delilah". Cecil B. DeMille went on to expand his property with the neighboring residence, which h ad previously belonged to Charlie Chaplin, in 1920. The filmmaker's family kept the mansion until the late 1980s.
A mansion of more than 1,000 square meters
Madonna's new house is located on a plot of 8,093 square meters and has six bedrooms and ten full bathrooms. The home offers 1,021.93 square meters of living space and panoramic views of the Hollywood Hills and Griffith Observatory. The property thus combines its historic architectural features with a prime location and dimensions befitting the grand mansions of Hollywood stars.
Angelina Jolie bought it after her separation from Brad Pitt
Angelina Jolie acquired the residence in 2017 for $24.5 million, as "The Wall Street Journal" reported at the time. The purchase took place after her separation from Brad Pitt, and over the last few years the mansion became the home of the actress and her children.
The decision to put it up for sale also coincides with the twins Angelina Jolie has with Brad Pitt coming of age. In an interview with The Hollywood Reporter in 2024, the actress explained that, once her children reached that stage, she was ready to live outside the United States, since she remained in Los Angeles mainly because of the circumstances related to her divorce.
Madonna did not come to visit the house in person
One of the most striking details of the deal is that Madonna reportedly did not even visit the mansion in person before buying it. According to The New York Post, her schedule commitments prevented her from attending the viewing that had been arranged before making the payment. The singer then reportedly relied on people from her inner circle, whom she asked to visit the property and send her a video so that she could see it. After receiving the footage, Madonna reportedly made the decision to close the deal for 22 million dollars.
In this way, the historic residence that had been in Angelina Jolie's hands in recent years now becomes part of the real estate holdings of another major international star.
