Mr. T has his first documentary about his life but calls it “garbage” before its Netflix premiere
The production dedicated to the actor’s life is about to arrive, but he has already seen the final cut and did not hold back about what he thinks.

At 74, Mr. T is about to have a production dedicated entirely to telling his life story for the first time . The project brings together moments from his childhood, his rise in Hollywood, his most memorable roles and several stages of his career that helped turn him into one of the most recognizable figures in pop culture. However, there is one small detail that changes the story completely: he has already given his opinion on the final result .
Mr. T called the result “garbage”
The actor said he was unable to see the finished material until about a month before its premiere, which is scheduled for September 8 . When he finally watched the final cut, his reaction was immediate: he said the project upset him because he felt it left out too many aspects of his life and went as far as describing it as “garbage.”
One of the reasons behind that reaction had to do with the involvement of people close to him. Mr. T explained that his pastor was interviewed as part of the project and that the conversations lasted for two days. However, he discovered that only about 30 seconds of all that material had made it into the final version, a small amount of time that, from his perspective, did not do justice to the importance his pastor has in his life .
He also questioned the presence of his former agent
But that was not the only documentary decision that upset him. Mr. T found that someone he had, according to him, specifically asked not to be involved in the project had also appeared in it.
It was Peter Young, who was his agent and appeared to discuss some of the decisions in his career and film opportunities that, according to him, the actor turned down for financial reasons.
For Mr. T, the problem is that these kinds of stories end up taking up significant space , while other aspects of his life that he considers far more important are pushed into the background.
A career that goes beyond his bad decisions
During the 1980s, he used his popularity to share messages with children about respect, drugs, peer pressure, and personal effort. Over the years, he also worked with organizations such as Make-A-Wish and Starlight to support seriously ill children .
He has also spoken about the importance of his mother in his life. He grew up alongside his 11 siblings, and after achieving success, one of his main goals was to buy her a house . His social and spiritual practices have also been an important part of his life.
Now, all that remains is for the public to have the opportunity to learn his story and form their own opinion about the production, as well as decide whether it truly succeeds in honoring his life as he had hoped.
