Prince Harry is preparing a film about Diana. Could he clash with William again?

The youngest son of Lady Di is reportedly preparing an audiovisual project and may have already enlisted people from his circle to release it in 2027, when 30 years will have passed since his mother's death.

Prince Harry is reportedly preparing his own television film about Diana of Wales, according to information released by Richard Kay, general editor of the Daily Mail. The journalist stated on Palace Confidential that the duke of Sussex is said to be working on the project and may have already begun contacting people who personally knew his mother.

The timing that would be chosen is no small matter. In 2027, it will be 30 years since the death of Diana , a date that will predictably reignite interest in her life, her legacy, and the relationship she had with her two sons.

The voice of those who knew Diana

According to the journalist, Harry is reportedly meeting with old friends and people connected to the princess to collect testimonies and incorporate them.

The testimonies could be truly relevant, making it possible to gain a perspective on Diana through the people who were part of her life, taking the 30th anniversary of her death as the perfect reason to remember her as she was.

From their accounts, Harry would have access to personal memories from a period in his mother's life that was marked by her public exposure, her divorce from Charles, and the final years before her death.

Harry and William shared the memory of their mother for years and, in 2017 , they appeared together in the documentary Diana, Our Mother: Her Life and Legacy, devoted to remembering her life and her influence on them. The current possible audiovisual project could rekindle an old controversy within the royal family. When people talk about the princess, the question arises: Who has the right to speak on behalf of Diana's legacy?

Since stepping back from the royal family's front line, Diana's figure has also held a recurring place in Harry's public narrative. His interviews, the documentary he starred in with Meghan Markle and his memoir have included references to his mother and the way her death shaped his life.

That is why a new project focused exclusively on Diana could inevitably generate comparisons between the way in which both brothers have chosen to preserve her memory.

Indirectly, Harry has presented himself as the main heir to his mother's legacy, which continues to carry enormous weight in both brothers' identities, even though their paths have diverged.

Althorp adds another piece to the story

During their last stay in the United Kingdom, Harry, Meghan, and their children, Archie and Lilibet, stayed at Althorp, the historic Spencer residence and the place where Diana is buried. A gesture that takes on special significance in light of their supposed plans to reclaim their mother's story.

In addition, Charles Spencer , Diana 's brother, is preparing a new book about the princess, scheduled for publication in September. Renewed interest in her figure could therefore grow over the coming months as the 30th anniversary of her death approaches.

The final question is which version of Diana Harry wants to tell and who will be willing to televise his memories. There is currently no official confirmation of the production, so neither a title, a specific release date, nor more details about its format are known.
