She posted the moment on Instagram and ended up arrested: What happened to Meliza Campos-Sanchez?

The case has caused shock after authorities found videos on her social media that, according to investigators, would show the mother exposing her two daughters to hot wax and later causing a fire inside the home she shares with the minors.

Meliza Campos Sanches , 26, was arrested in Miami - Dade and faces charges of arson, child abuse, and neglect charges.

Instagram posts change the course of the case

Everything began on August 16 when fire department crews responded to a home because of a fire reported in the kitchen. According to the arrest documents, an investigator determined that the flames had been caused using direct fire, flammable liquids, and combustible materials.

Additionally, investigators discovered two videos posted on the Instagram account of influencer Campos-Sanchez . According to the case file, the images in question documented part of what happened.

In one of the videos, the woman appears handling a lit candle and pouring melted wax first on herself and then on the hands of her daughters, ages 3 and 6 , according to investigators. Another of the videos allegedly shows Campos-Sanchez in the kitchen while she sets fire to clothing placed on the floor.

Investigators later found burned materials, a lighter, and other items they considered relevant to reconstructing the origin of the fire.

The woman appears wearing a silver mask while handling and setting clothing on fire in a scene that matches part of the evidence found at the residence.

Their daughters were also questioned

According to testimony gathered by investigators, the two minors were in the house when the fire broke out.

"The older of the girls told the officers that they were inside the home while their mother was setting clothes on fire in the kitchen. Another relevant detail, is that apparently the younger of the girls had helped put out the fire with water.

"The girls' father stated that he was not at home, since he is temporarily living with his parents due to marital problems. According to his account, he was alerted by the videos and went to the authorities. The girls were placed in the custody of Yusniel Cue .

The Influencer underwent a mental health evaluation.

Following the incident, Meliza was transferred to a mental health hospital before being admitted to prison and was later held at the Turner Guilford Knight Correctional Center. The judge in charge of the case ordered that she remain away from her daughters and directed that mental evaluations continue.

For the moment, she is facing charges and accusations that will have to be resolved within the judicial process, including her immigration status.
