What was happening at Hayden Panettiere's Hollywood home: Neighbors detail years of suspicious drug deliveries before her death
New claims shed light on alleged drug deliveries and the investigation into the actress’s final days

Hayden Panettiere’s final months are now being examined through a new lens as investigators look into where the drugs potentially connected to her death came from.
The actress, 36, was found unresponsive at an apartment in Greenville, South Carolina, on August 16 after suffering cardiac arrest. Authorities haven’t determined an official cause or manner of death, with toxicology results still pending.
Attention has increasingly shifted to Southern California, where Panettiere lived. Federal authorities and Los Angeles-area investigators have reportedly questioned several people as they investigate whether she obtained illicit or counterfeit pills from a local supplier.
According to the Los Angeles Times, investigators are particularly interested in reports that she took what was described as counterfeit oxycodone before her death. Such pills can contain fentanyl, sometimes in potentially lethal amounts.
Reports about activity around Panettiere’s Hollywood residence have added another troubling element. People familiar with the neighborhood have alleged that visitors appeared at the actress’s home repeatedly over several years, with some reportedly dropping off bags before immediately leaving.
Two women believed to be in their early 20s and a man in his 30s were allegedly seen making frequent visits beginning around 2021.
One reported delivery occurred shortly before Panettiere’s death. A man was allegedly seen leaving a bag bearing the name “Brian.” There’s no confirmation that the package was intended for Brian Hickerson, Panettiere’s on-and-off boyfriend, or that the contents were connected to illegal drugs.
Investigators examine a possible drug supply chain
The reported neighborhood activity comes as investigators focus on whether Panettiere received drugs through a Southern California dealer.
Recent reporting has said authorities are examining communications that allegedly involved the purchase of black-market medication. Those claims haven’t been publicly established by law enforcement as fact, and the investigation remains ongoing.
The circumstances surrounding Panettiere’s death have also prompted scrutiny of the medication she had with her. According to a Greenville police report, Hickerson showed an officer a bag containing medications Panettiere was taking.
Much of the report was redacted, and authorities haven’t publicly released a complete list of the substances involved.
Paramedics reportedly administered Narcan during efforts to save Panettiere , while dispatch audio referenced a possible overdose.
However, neither development establishes an official cause of death. The Greenville County coroner has said an autopsy found no trauma that contributed to her death, while police initially reported no indication of foul play or suspicious circumstances.
The investigation could ultimately determine whether counterfeit medication played a role and, if so, where it originated.
As authorities continue examining the circumstances, Panettiere’s death remains officially unresolved.
