Angelina Jolie sells her mansion for 24.75 million and takes a step toward a life outside the United States
The actress is letting go of the house she bought after separating from Brad Pitt, with her six children now all adults and plans to spend more time abroad.

Angelina Jolie has already sold the house where she reorganized her family life after her separation from Brad Pitt. The actress closed the deal for $24.75 million , as confirmed by People, thus letting go of one of the properties most closely tied to her life in Los Angeles.
The sale comes at a particularly significant moment. Her six children are already adults and Jolie has made it clear that she wants to reduce her dependence on the United States, travel more, and lead a more nomadic life. In her most recent interview with L"Officiel, she even appeared surrounded by moving boxes in her Los Angeles home.
A mansion she bought after separating from Brad Pitt
Jolie put the Los Feliz property up for sale in May for $29.85 million, but ultimately accepted $24.75 million . She had paid $24.5 million for it in 2017, a year after her separation from Pitt.
The residence belonged to director Cecil B. DeMille and has six bedrooms, ten bathrooms, a swimming pool, and a guesthouse. During the past few years it was one of the main hubs of Jolie's family life in Los Angeles.
The actress had long linked her staying in the city to her children's situation. In an interview with The Hollywood Reporter in 2024, she explained: “I'm here because I have to be here due to a divorce, but as soon as they turn 18 I'll be able to leave.”
That moment came in July, when Knox and Vivienne , the twins and the two youngest in the family, turned 18. With all six children now adults, Jolie now has much more freedom to choose where to live.
Angelina Jolie wants a more nomadic life
The sale of the mansion fits with Jolie’s statement that she does not want to establish a new permanent residence and that she intends to spend more time outside the United States.
“I would like to be a bit nomadic for a while,” she said. Her intention is to maintain a base for her family, where she can keep photographs and memories, but travel between different countries. She also confirmed that she wants to devote more time to her humanitarian work in Cambodia and that her home there will serve as a residence for some months of the year.
Cambodia holds a special place. Jolie has a home there and has maintained a close relationship with the country for years through her humanitarian work and the Maddox Foundation , created in honor of her eldest son.
That said, the sale of the Los Angeles house does not mean that Jolie has announced a permanent move to Cambodia or that she has established another country as her permanent residence. Her own account points instead to a life with several bases and more travel.
Her children also distance themselves from the Pitt surname
The new family situation also coincides with several changes in the names of her children. Zahara received court approval on September 28 to remove “Pitt” from her surname and was legally renamed Zahara Marley Jolie. She is the third of the six siblings to complete that process, after Maddox and Shiloh.
Vivienne has also requested to change her name and has a hearing scheduled for November 2. In Knox’s case, it was reported that he used “Jolie” and not “Jolie-Pitt” on his high school diploma, although that does not imply a legal change of surname.
Jolie and Pitt separated in 2016 and finalized their divorce in December 2024 . Their six children—Maddox, Pax, Zahara, Shiloh, Knox, and Vivienne—are now adults.
