Jim Carrey sells $35 million oceanfront mansion days after secret wedding to Min Ah
The 64-year-old continues to embrace a quieter lifestyle away from Hollywood

A decade after purchasing a secluded oceanfront retreat in Hawaii, Jim Carrey is preparing to part with the property as he begins a new chapter following his marriage to Min Ah .
The 64-year-old comedian and actor has placed his Maui estate on the market for $35 million, only days after his representative confirmed that the couple had married during an intimate Los Angeles ceremony.
Carrey purchased the property for $16.5 million in 2016, meaning the current asking price is $18.5 million higher than what he originally paid. The decision follows his previous sale of a longtime Los Angeles residence.
Located along Keawakapu Beach, the property offers nearly an acre of tropical grounds, with approximately 170 feet of ocean frontage providing extensive views and privacy.
The 4,717-square-foot residence was built in 2002 and includes three bedrooms, four-and-a-half bathrooms and spacious living areas designed to connect with the surrounding landscape.
Real estate agent Blake Hill , representing the property through Hawaii Life, is marketing the fully furnished estate as a "bohemian luxury unicorn."
"The great room rises into the trusses and opens fully to a covered stone lanai," the property listing explains, highlighting its emphasis on outdoor living.
The kitchen features two large islands and premium appliances, while the primary bedroom includes floor-to-ceiling windows and an unusual swinging bed.
Outside, the estate resembles a private resort, complete with a swimming pool, natural rock features, a grotto, waterslide and elevated spa.
Secret wedding marks new chapter
Carrey 's decision to sell follows his marriage to Ah , with whom he has maintained a largely private relationship despite his international fame.
The couple appeared together at February's Cesar Awards in Paris, where Carrey received an honorary award celebrating his contribution to cinema.
During his acceptance speech, he acknowledged his daughter Jane Carrey and grandson Jackson, before paying tribute to Ah as his "sublime companion."
Their subsequent wedding was held away from the public spotlight, reflecting the quieter approach Carrey has increasingly taken toward his personal life.
The actor has spent considerable time in Hawaii over recent years, reportedly enjoying reading, painting, writing and walking instead of maintaining a constant presence in Hollywood.
Carrey continues leaving behind longtime properties
The Maui listing follows Carrey 's decision to sell his Brentwood mansion, which he purchased for $3.8 million in 1994 during his breakthrough year.
He initially listed the Los Angeles estate for $28.9 million in 2023, but several reductions followed before the property eventually sold for $17 million.
Carrey has previously discussed his growing preference for solitude, suggesting in 2022 that he was seriously considering stepping away from acting.
"I really like my quiet life," he explained while discussing his creative interests and satisfaction with life beyond Hollywood.
Whether his latest property sale reflects a permanent departure from Hawaii remains unknown, particularly given his longstanding affection for the island.
However, the timing of the listing, immediately following his wedding, adds another significant development to a period of personal change for the veteran actor.
