Sydney Sweeney and Stephen Kalyn’s passionate sidewalk kiss turns heads in New York as the crew looks on
Kalyn cupped Sweeney’s face and pulled her in for a kiss on a Manhattan sidewalk
S ydney Sweeney and Stephen Kalyn shared a passionate kiss on a New York sidewalk , with Kalyn holding her face in both hands as he drew her close. The chemistry made the moment look effortless, as if the pair had forgotten anyone else was watching.
They were filming The Housemaid’s Secret , the sequel to Sweeney’s 2025 thriller. Sweeney returns as Millie , while Kalyn plays Brock , a lawyer who becomes romantically involved with her. The kiss offers an early glimpse of their characters’ relationship.
Millie’s romance with Brock unfolds alongside a new mystery
The story follows Millie as she takes a housekeeping job for a woman she is never allowed to see. Her new employers are wealthy CEO Douglas Garrick, played by Paul Anthony Kelly, and his wife Wendy, played by Kirsten Dunst.
As Millie tries to understand what is happening behind a locked door, her new life begins to look anything but ordinary.
Paul Feig returns to direct the sequel, based on Freida McFadden’s second Housemaid novel. Michele Morrone also returns as Enzo, with Brittany Snow joining the cast.
The first movie became a major hit, earning about $400 million worldwide. It was especially popular with audiences: Rotten Tomatoes currently lists a 92% audience score, compared with 74% from critics.
Sydney Sweeney has described the original The Housemaid as a “dream project” and said she is drawn to complex, twist-filled stories.
The sequel looks set to bring back the mix of suspense, secrets and sensual moments that helped make the first film a hit. It is scheduled to open in theaters on Dec. 17, 2027.
The on-screen chemistry is part of the job, and both actors have partners in real life.
Sydney has been linked to music executive Scooter Braun since 2025; People reported in September 2026 that their relationship had become serious.
Stephen Kalyn is engaged to longtime partner Victoria Lovatsis , whom he has credited with encouraging him to audition for Off Campus .
For now, the sidewalk kiss is just a taste of Millie and Brock’s romance and of the film’s steamy side. The locked-door mystery at the heart of The Housemaid’s Secret is still waiting for audiences in 2027.
