Context: 'Cinema ... Sylvester Stallone, actor: "Men need to conquer something to prove their masculinity, it's part of their nature, that's why they go to war" ... The actor says he does not know what the “new masculinity” is and focuses on tradition'

In fact, he lived through one of the worst situations a person can face: the loss of a child. An experience that still haunts him, as he has confirmed in an extensive interview with El País, in which he also addressed the concept of masculinity and its evolution.

"Even if you haven't done anything wrong, you feel a terrible sense of failure. I still feel it today. I can't even look at a photo; I don't have any of his at home. It's too horrible. He made films. He was different; he wasn't someone of physical action, but rather intellectual: he liked horror films and strange foreign cinema. I know that it was difficult for him to be my son" , he pointed out.

'Sylvester Stallone analyzes the "new masculinity"'

Through a reflection on the gym and sculpted bodies, Stallone has analyzed the differences between men and women in some aspects related to masculinity. The actor believes that men have a need to test themselves and demonstrate their strength.

"Men need to conquer something to prove their masculinity. It's part of their nature. That's why they go to war . Only men do crazy things, like jumping out of windows or riding motorcycles recklessly. I never see women doing those things. Every man needs to test himself to see if he is brave," he specified.

A reflection that has also led him to question the concept of "new masculinity", which he acknowledges he does not have a clear definition of.

"I don't even know. What is that (the new masculinity)? A real man is physical. That's what he was put on this planet for. It's what he was and what he has always been," he concluded.
