The music industry is divided after the controversy surrounding Ed Sheeran and his position regarding the Israel's genocide against the Palestinian people. The promoter expelled Macklemore from his tour after shouting "Free Palestine". The headlining artist has preferred to stay out of what happened and respect the decision that was made.'

This has cost him, for example, four guests leaving Ed Sheeran's tour after Macklemore's departure over his messages about Palestine. In addition, a large part of the industry has turned against him . At his latest show, in Philadelphia, he even admitted that he feared spectators would throw objects at him when he came out on stage.

“Normally I usually come out onto a secondary stage (B-stage), and I’m going to be completely honest with you, I didn’t know how the audience would respond tonight. I didn’t know if they would throw things at me. I didn’t know if people would shout at me…”, were the words spoken by the Halifax artist in a tone that suggested the criticism is taking its toll on him.

Damon Albarn does not ‘forgive’ Ed Sheeran: “Never forget this: hold your ground and never be neutral”

It didn’t happen, but the Briton does not seem to have earned everyone’s forgiveness. Damon Albarn, singer of Gorillaz and Blur, has not forgotten the controversy and took a stand with Palestine at his latest concert. The musician brought out the nation’s flag and did not hesitate to speak out about it with a ‘message’ for Sheeran: “Never forget it. Hold your position. Never be neutral.”

It should be noted that Ed Sheeran has walked back his position on what happened in Palestine. He has already described the situation as “catastrophic” and “unjustifiable and disproportionate”. “My heart has been broken by the scale of the devastation and the loss of civilian lives, of children's lives,” he said during his latest concert.
